Why West Marin?

If you already know the area, this may sound like a silly question. People travel to visit the West Marin coastline from all corners of the world seeking to enjoy the natural splendor of our local wilderness, to learn more about the outstanding local leadership and world-class examples in sustainable farming, and to partake in our amazing local foodie culture that is a result of that exemplary cultivation of produce, dairy, seafood and livestock raised or caught locally.

Our local wilderness features offer something for everyone- from towering redwood forests to rolling green valley hills, to the rumbling oceanfront.

Marshall, Point Reyes, and Inverness are also nestled around an additional unique water feature-

   Tomales bay.

With it's naturally calmer and slightly warmer waters, Tomales Bay is a beautiful place to get away from the Ocean for a nice long swim, kayak, wildlife spotting, and sight seeing.

It's also a great place to come slurp down some world renowned local oysters harvested straight out of the bay!

COMMUNITY

If that wasn't enough to offer and cherish, we also sustain a vibrant and supportive local community. West Marin thrives on arts and performance, scientific and wilderness exploration, small business entrepreneurship, and innovative civic volunteering.

At the heart of Point Reyes Station is our famous Dance Palace Community Center, which has supported the arts and inspiration within our community for decades. Our area is also famous for its healthy living yoga and meditation workshops, and its local writing and artist retreats and organizations.

DOWNTOWN

Downtown Point Reyes Station offers all the amenities one could seek, with a fully stocked grocery store, fully comprehensive pharmacy, bank, post office, saloon, car mechanic, gas station, "feed barn" (not just for livestock, but for coffee/fresh vegetables and artisinal foods/souvenirs too, as well as a weekly farmer's market!), thrift and designer clothing stores, a Creamery for freshly made cheeses, world class restaurants, schools, churches, and much much more! We pack a lot to offer for a small town.

West Marin is an excellent place to raise children, start your dream business, vacation, fish, farm, or even to retire! We've got it all.

Or~ If you're like my husband and me,

It's hard to beat a good day of boogie boarding in the Pacific Ocean right off of the West Marin coastline. Then capping off the exercise with a delicious, locally sourced organic dinner from one of our world famous local restaurants.

West Marin is a lovely place to be, and we chose to spend the rest of our lives here!
